I can relate to this product! November 30, 2005 Robert Jeppo 31 out of 32 found this review helpful
The thing I like most about this product is that there's no hype about making you a rock-star in 10 minutes. The guy on the video is just a regular guy who really knows how to teach (show) people how to play. I tried to learn guitar a few years ago, but the books and scales and theory were all too complicated. This DVD, along with the book, skips all that stuff and just shows you how to play -- I never knew I could be jamming along to cool songs so quickly! I'm finally having fun with my guitar instead of letting it collect dust in the closet!
Best Guitar Lessons Out There! December 3, 2005 JC (Mountain View, CA) 31 out of 32 found this review helpful
I bought the first book and dvd from these guys and this one is even BETTER! The instructor is great, the lessons are very easy to understand and are very thorough, you can go at your own pace and I loved the songs they teach. I have tried out a bunch of guitar lesson books and DVD's that are out there today and this one is by far the best. This is a FANTASTIC beginner product. I would recommend it to anyone! I am actually playing the guitar now, thanks to these lessons. I am also going to buy their Level 2 DVD because I liked this one so much!
Simply the best way to learn guitar November 30, 2005 Stewart B. Putney (USA) 21 out of 21 found this review helpful
This is an amazing product. I have seen other how-to-play guitar videos, but this is by far the best. The play-along viddeos make it much easier to play songs. The method is by far the easiest way to get started and have fun. I had their first books- they were great, but this is better. My kids just love playing along with me- so the videos have become a family activity. Would highly reccomend to anyone- and a great value as well.
Great for the complete beginner February 6, 2007 BG (Chicago) 12 out of 12 found this review helpful
If you know nothing about playing the guitar, this is the next best thing to live instruction. It starts from square one and will have you playing a few simple songs in a very short time. The split screen technique on the video is very effective, with two frames each showing a close-up of a hand, and a third frame showing the whole player. The book has nice, big photos of hand positions for the chords - not just dots on a fret board diagram - which is also very helpful.
The only down side is that it won't take you very far. The book contains only 17 chords, which may sound like a lot if you've never played, but many popular songs need chords not covered in the book. It wouldn't have cost them that much more to add another dozen or so.
Quick, Simple, and Easy August 11, 2006 Rita (Chicago) 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
Just as their title says "Quick, SImple, and Easy." These guitar lessons are the best. I have tried many other methods and this one is the best. The guy in the DVD teaches strumming and all the techniques in a clear manner.
